AIX Installation

I have just did a preservation installion of aix 4.3 but when the machine restarts it says "starting comman desktop environment" and will stay there for two days if I let it. What am I doing wrong ?

One of two things: 1) If this install is on a network with different settings, then the machine is trying to figure out the DNS structure (if the domain name and dns server are in the network settings. 2) when you laid the new os down you may have inadvertantly consumed one of your volumes. (ie the / volume or the /usr volume may be at 100%) try booting it into single-user mode (probably by pressing the 5,F5 or F8 buttons during boot time) and cleaning the volume that has been consumed.
