Perhaps not the most "lounge-ish" question, but it doesn't fit anywhere really.
Total Hardware 1999 (and I mean the full version for 18k-some devices, not the limited 14k-some) doesn't appear to have any legal owners...but I'm sure they're out there and I'm sure distribution could result in some kind of legal action (desperate times, desperate measures).
Does anyone have ANY idea who was behind developing TH99? If so, any idea on the legality of distributing it (not for profit)?
Thanks

Try these guys first and see if you get any response about it.

Is this title now in the public domain, I have wanted a copy of it for years and all I have been able to find is the smaller sized one.
Keep the old stuff running

You can download it from the internet. I found several places on where to download it from but I did not check on which package it was....I think there was the college URL one is the larger version and not the small one.

I burned th99 on cd about 6 or 7 years ago when it was available from pley.org. The trail continued to embeddedlogic.com in 2003/2004 after pley shut down; then the full version (diagrams and all) of th99 became really hard to find.
Just moved...I'll look for the cd today. Might be possible to build a small site and put it up for download.
Edit:
Found the cd...449Mb of files and 482Mb used disk space on the cd.

lurkswithin, I'm wondering how Network Solutions could be of assistance...can you perhaps elaborate?
LinuxOS2, it is seemingly, but this is what I'm wanting to check. I did recently obtain a copy of the full version and want to get it online for distribution but I need to find out if someone's gonna come after me for it
(full takes up 600mb I am seeing)
What really gets me is how there are no copyright notices or anything anywhere within it (for those unfamiliar, it is basically a self contained website loaded with settings and config info for older hardware). That alone makes me think nobody is going to lay claim to it (even if they do, where's the proof they made it?)

The reference to Network Solutions could be they are the last known registration service of the mentioned domain name, don't know that just a guess ?
I had found this site http://www.osuweb.net/~ahaning/tota... sometime ago when I was researching who owns TH99, maybe you have already seen it, if not scroll down to the bottom of the page and give it a quick read.
Looks to me the answer to who owns it is lost out in the vapors of Bit Land somewhere.Keep the old stuff running

Cant help but wonder if this stuff did come from the Micro House PC Hardware Library books from the folks at Que?
