Actually, computers have been doing more work than us for many years now. So much so that the federal and state and local governments have been forced to create specific laws to protect us from them. This is the telecommunication industry where at one time their sales pitches to consumers was that their product was so proficient that it quadrupled the work that a regular secretary or employee could perform simply on the merit that it Need never to take a break, as it works 24 hours a day...7 days a week , needs no rest or food or restroom breaks. and actually stated that it never called in sick either.
