how do i produce an ordered list of most/many addresses on a given street? for example, starting with 50 main st (say), i hope to find:
42 main - joseph s smith
43 main - charlie tuna
45 main - hairy angel beauty salon
47 main - jane doe realty
48 main - nick's pizza
50 main - john q public [STARTING POINT]
51 main - westlake apartments
53 main - jade fortune restaurant
54 main - first national bank
57 main - city hall
58 main - post office
62 main - bill & cathy thompsoni thought it was MAPQUEST which had a feature like this, but i just can't find it. an old help page reveals a "browse the neighborhood" link, but i can't find it on the site in the here and now. even if i switch to mapquest "classic".
there's a "search nearby" link, but it's quite a diff kettle of fish. businesses here and there on nearby streets, by radial distance. not sequentially up and down any given street like i'm looking for. plus you have to narrow down "type of business" before even beginning the search.
nor do i see anything similar on google or yahoo maps.
anyone know? or know of some other site/method for doing this?
TIA!

Besides knocking door-to-door—depending on how many structures & how long or short your street is—you can try this & see.

Or go to the local assessors site. You can insert a range of addresses and you should get a list in that order. May have more info than you want though.

You can also go to the local county clerks office. Many of them have a bank of computers opened to the public. That way, you'll see unlisted names & addresses. I know a retired IRS investigator who always used it.
How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

Sorry for the INCREDDDDDDDDDDDIBLE slowness of my reply! My PC went tits up like the very DAY after i asked my first (and LAST...) coupla questions.
Anyway, Sabertooth's suggestion was exactly what I was looking for. I really thought it had been Mapquest, but as soon as I gave Whitepages a try, even the LAYOUT looked familiar!
Thank you very much!!!!
And for all the rest of you telling me to fly to w/e city I'm investigating and physically walk into some bureaucrat's office...what thu...?!

cathee
I didn't suggest that you go anywhere other than your keyboard. Where I live Assessor's records are all online.
