I have windows 7 and have just installed java.

I am new here and when i logged in i was asked to use the system scan to scan my pc.

I tried it. but when i press run nothing happens. or is it scanning in the background?

Hmm,

No, its not scanning in the background. You would know if it worked... it runs really fast. Is anyone else using 7? Does it work for them?

I think it may have something to do with 64 bit systems. Mine for whatever reason won't allow me to use 64 bit IE exclusively. So when I download Java ihave to use both 64 bit and 32 bit. This seems to cause problems with the scan. Not sure why. If I uninstall the 64 bit java it works.
Yes I am running Win 7 RC and Win 7 Retail on different systems with the same affect. I got the same issue before with XP 64 just skipped it and forgot about it.

I just tried it again. I am using the Win 7 ultimate Rc computer. I got this

A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x692c6c71, pid=856, tid=3836

At the java forums I am told to upgrade my JVM. I have the latest. I am then told upgrade my ram I have 6 gbs.

Hey,

Perhaps its not compatible with 64-bit like you say. Either way, as of now, I don't really have the resources to fix this bug. Obviously, programming for all the various computers out there is much more hit or miss than programming websites.

Thanks for letting me know though,
Justin

I seem to remember this bombing on my Vista x64 box. I'll try it after I get off of work tonight, assuming I remember.
