I had posted a problem in there the other day and no reply. There's quite a few posts with no replies. Does that mean there are very few mac users around?

Probably also the reason Mac doesn't get bombarded with viruses like Microsoft does. LOL...takes forever to install a program, I can't imagine anyone spending time trying to mess up that OS.

My ibook will probably take some time to get used to, so many things to iron out lol eg: wmv vids and other stuff.
I tried flipmac for the wmv files but they come out all distorted and also tried VLC for mac, it just shuts down unexpectedly....I think I still prefer my XP PC's...LOL.
At least they are more user-friendly in the long run.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

That would be my guess.

Yeah, Microsoft makes a nice BIG target considering the size of their market share as compared to MAC or anyone else. Also, now that the new OS on MAC's is BSD (UNIX) based, that makes it a lot harder to infect with a virus too.

You've no doubt seen those "I'm a MAC" - "I'm a PC" commercials with the two guys!? I always get a chuckle out of them. First of all, PC is an acronym for "Personal Computer" which a MAC is. So a MAC is as much a "PC" as a Windows based computer........lol

Then to top it off..........MAC used to be proprietary. From the hardware on up to the OS. Now they use all the same hardware as any other "PC" and their OS is UNIX based........LOL..........so they've stopped being proprietary and are now built with all mainsteam parts.....so really, the only major difference between a MAC and any Windows based PC is simply the operating system.

Some years back I was working for a company that had clients with MAC's. The boss wanted me to fix them. I agreed I'd be willing if they put me through a training course first. The refused so I never had to work on them. It's too bad too because there does seem to be a shortage of people who work on them....as you're finding out.

I didn't know they still made them.

Who in their right mind would ever need more than 640K of RAM!?
