Ok, Without using the internet. Please try to guess this.
I'm putting this in my own words to make it more unique.

Riddle - There's a sky scraper, On the 30th Floor a man lifts open a window, climbs out, jumps and falls, he hits the solid floor. Somehow, he gets up & he's not injured at all.
How did he survive the fall ?

Now there could be a few different answers. but i'm looking for one specific answer which you will probably like :P

He's a window washer who jumped into the skyscraper onto the 30th floor from the outside window washing platform?

re: "a window washer"

I guess that would depend on what the OP meant by climbs out.

Basic English sentence structure would lead one to believe that the man climbed out of the aforementioned window.

If he was a window washer, then the only thing he could have climbed out of would be his window washing rig which wasn't mentioned.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect the reader to assume that climbs out relates to anything other than the window the man just opened.

It doesn't say which way he "jumps and falls". My guess is he jumped back thru the window & fell to the floor. Or maybe just as he jumped, a huge gust of wind blew him back inside & he fell to the floor.

Please see response #3 and explain what the window washer "climbs out" of?

Your riddle says "a man lifts open a window, climbs out" and then does something else.

I would venture that if you asked any English teacher about this, they would say that the only reasonable assumption the reader could make is that the man climbed out of the window.

If the man was a window washer, then he climbed in not out.

Derbydad, Sorry about that, was typing off memory & changed it a little. But i remember now that that part should say "Climbs Through the window"

If i think up another riddle i'll check through it making sure everythings right, because i understand your view, "Climbs out" looks as though he was in the building to start with.

My bad.

No search was involved because you said not to search. Just flexed the noodle and deployed a bit of unaided lateral cognition. Like the method of figuring out if spaghetti is fully cooked by throwing a strand against a dorm room wall to see if it sticks, I threw out a wild guess. Of course, that methodology is for those who don't like their answers partially raw and al dente.

...... to continue the riddle

...he gets up & notices that the 30 story sky scraper has rooms which have "floors" and "ceilings" ...but.. NO walls.!.
... the force of the fall has no impact!
Q: how many "O"'s in each corner... bearing in mind it has 30 stories?

...you should get this as the play on words is seen rather than heard!

"On the 30th Floor a man lifts open a window," That would imply that the man is actually ON the floor; inside the building. Not outside the building, which is apparently, where he was.

Right?

I don't think I've ever seen a functioning window on the 30th floor of any building....could be wrong though. :)

Jen,

A functioning window will work on any level.

As long as you can see in and / or out of it!
