What does everyone think of internet romances? I met my wife online back in 98, we moved in together in 99 and got married in 01.

This sucks. There was no internet when I got married.

Likely, just a question....do you both still sit in the same room and play pogo games on seperate PC's?
Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
Were you engaged in 00? Seems like that would complete the sequence of +1 in your arithmetic romance series of '98, '99, _, '01.
LMAO @ XpUser4Real
We didn't meet on pogo, but we do both play pogo, rarely at the same time though. When we do we are not in the same room. lol

Yes I was crazy and living in Pittsburgh made me nearly homicidal. After five years of being, pardon my french, gang raped by the local politicians and their taxes we moved back to Florida. Odd though when we moved back here my pay got cut by 60% and yet we lived a heck of a lot better. While in pittsburgh I was trained heavily in their 1 finger peace sign and brought it home with me.
It is the only place I have lived where the politicians are honest. They tell you up front how they are going to waste your money literally and still the people that live there back them. Property taxes there, in the city anyway, are easily more than 1,000% more than here. When we moved back here my parents place here was appraised $40,000 more than her parents place there. My parents were paying just over $200 a year her parents a bit more than $1,300 per quarter.
Needless to say I am in no hurry to go back my bottom still hurts and I have been back here for over five years now.

Now that we know the year, what's the make and model of cats?
To answer your question, it's clearly evident that it is a far more efficient process than trying to make yourself available and hoping to be noticed in female-friendly terrain like yoga classes, the feminine hygiene section of grocery stores, and ladies shoe stores in shopping malls (scary, scary places!).
Met my wife in IRC back around 1996. We chatted online and got to know each other quite well over the next 4 or 5 years. We met IRL in 01 and married in 02 and she moved up here to Canada with me from north Idaho.
Still happy, still going strong!
Just FYI, my wife had a dog when we first met and he's going to be 14 in January. We added a new dog in 04 and another this past December.
I used to frequent IRC...Undernet specifically. I knew several couples that met in the #30plus channel. Now whenever I go there (rarely) there's nobody in that channel. Maybe I should be looking at the #40plus. Perhaps they're all there... :)
LIR
My wife and I met IRL at a chat party that I actually went to to atemtpt to score on someone else lol. I had to go and pick her up and bring her to the party. When I first saw her it was like no one else existed anymore. We had chatted for a while but there was no romantic stuff between us. I was an online man whore lol with all the other women at the party but she was just someone I chatted with. Go figure.
