Hey,

I was just trying to come up with ideas to make the User Info page (the page you see when you click on a name) more useful to everyone. I'm pretty much at the end of my ideas. Does anyone here have any ideas?

Thanks,
Justin

Could you change the:

Posts NAME participated in, sorted by popularity (1 - 50 of 963):

to having it sorted by Date, perhaps from Newest to Oldest or even better make it sortable by the User.

Maybe add any 'How-to's by the user?

Hi Justin,

not quite the response you are asking for, but following your post, on checking my details, I think the (member since) date is incorrect, and thus (posts per day) is also incorrect.

Or am I missing something?

Regards - Mike

Hi,

Yes. That is incorrect. However, I did a major system upgrade in February of 2008. Unfortunately, everyone who is older than that shows that they joined then.

As for the sorting by date, that is a great idea. I will look into it.

Good idea Radix-64.

I think adding Howto's would be a great idea. Then I can stop having to go find it, copy the URL and link it. I can just tell ppl to click on my name and then the specific howto!

The sorting ideas are good too!

Justin -

How about giving us a one-time option to correct the date we actually joined CN for you?

You could fix problem where (or at least explain why) the Lastest Post info doesn't match the Participation list.

e.g. For me it currently says:

Last Posted To: Excel VBA conditional copy/paste

and

Posts DerbyDad03 participated in, sorted by most recent (1 - 50 of 1157): Find lowest value between 2 text cells

Shouldn't my latest post be at the top of a list that is "sorted by most recent"?

Hi,

This is because the last posted is updated immediately and that list is updated weekly. I will change it to say (updated weekly).

XpUser,

I don't think that's a good idea. Way too ripe for abuse.

I just had a look, excellent job Justin.

Thanks to you and Radix. Now I can tell ppl to just click on my name and go read it instead of linking! :)
