Hi Jennifer -
In your 2006 Post, you mentioned you bought a new Saturn. If you still have it, keep reading. Otherwise ignore the rest.
Given the news yesterday that GM decided to close the brand after the buyer Roger Penske abruptly ended all talks, I hope you didn't take it hard. Do you have any idea how GM would honor all warranty works?

Jennifer isn't the only one with a Saturn (though mine is 14 years old). Here's the latest: (from: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009...
"GM said Saturn vehicle owners can still go to their Saturn dealer for service and would be able to go to a certified GM dealer for service once Saturn dealerships are closed."
I would imagine that would also include warranty work...

Actually, the car I was referring to was a Sky that I had ordered, but then I changed my mind and got a different convertible. I kept my original Saturn, but sold it a year ago... I still miss it. Saturns are great cars, and I think it's a shame that they will no longer be building new models. (I can think of other car companies that would be missed less.) The service I received on my Saturn was the best by far of any car I've owned, and the technicians would wash the car after it was serviced.
However, to answer the question, according to the local Saturn dealership, replacement parts for all current models will still be produced, and warranties honored.

Absolutely. I've owned my SL1 since it was new in '95 and seeing the company driven into the ground (largely because of GM's meddling) is a real downer. Always got great service from the dealer and outside of tires, batteries, and wipers, no one else has ever serviced it. With 212,000 miles, it still gets 43mpg and until a few months ago was a daily-driver with over 100 miles to work and back (unemployment has sadly changed that). I need to get it serviced at least once more before they close the dealership since I know no one else around would take the trouble that they did...
