FF 3.5 Beta 4 beats IE8 in M$ own tests.

Recently M$' Dean Hachamovitch bragged about how IE8 easily doubles IE7 speeds in "real-world" user deployment. Mozilla, apparently must have felt insulted or perhaps slighted. Because a much recent test from here of the increasingly popular browser's latest public beta -- Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 -- blew away IE8 by loading pages 81% faster on average ... interesting!

Windows Update installed IE8 a few days ago. I've been quite impressed by its speed. It's definitely quicker than IE7, and it handles HD Flash smoothly (YouTube HD was always choppy under IE7, even though it never loaded the CPU by more than 25%).
For now, I'm going to stick with the big blue E.

I've had IE8 for a while, but it's still relegated to the back plate as far as browsing goes. I have come to rely on FF for so long that I could get away with banishing "iexplore" from my Windows 7 installation now that M$ has made this possible without provoking dreadful consequences.

Well, I was using Firefox for ages. But now I'm actually using IE more and more, Occasionally Firefox just wont load a page or freezes while having more than one tab with a PDF. No such problems with IE. Hopefully the next Firefox update will run smoother than the version I'm using now.
