Hey guys. Offtopic "Lounge" question for fellow Computing.net'ers: Anyone have any recommendations for some good (and legitimate) online felony background check services? Like what you as an employer or what your company uses? There's a lot of online services listed but a lot seem to be fraud or just don't do any better than Googe. So far eFindOutTheTruth.com and BackGroundChecks.com seem ok, but feedback from anyone with experience would be helpful. Thanks.

Assume that I already did an Internet search.

Having known a couple investigators, IRS & private, I would only use a local PI with access to NCIC &/or Choicepoint. I wouldn't bother with online sites.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

Never been involved in the decision making process myself but one that I worked for used , for just general labor positions, the local state police department, department of public safety. For anything involving security clearences they had a local IRS investigator they went to. Also remember you must have written permission from the individual before performing any check otherwise you can be sued. A neighbor used one of the sites online for his small engine shop and found after spending lots of money over a couple years he was getting false imformation. I don't remember the site though.

I would never take a check from a felon.

If they don't have cash, they don't get the goods.
