Hi all,
This week's poll question is about the new feature on Gmail that lets you "undo" sent mails. Discuss here what you think about this idea, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.
Thanks!
Justin

Google Gmail Lab Undo Send feature is available only for 5 seconds after sending mail. Once the five seconds timed out there is nothing you can do to rescind the e-mail.

"Do you wish all e-mail had an Undo feature like Gmail?"
YES! I couldn't count the number of messages I've regretted sending immediately after hitting send. Messages with typos/spelling errors, messages I could have rephrased, angry messages to the Maytag repairman...
Google should provide 15-30 seconds to Undo. My brain doesn't meet the minimum GHz requirement to react in 5...lol.

I've never used gmail and in all honesty, couldn't care less about an "undo" feature.

LOL - I hear you loud and clear.
Since I'm familiar with myself and my tendency to.......act out improperly as my first reaction.........if I don't stop and think about it first, I try very very hard to NEVER click on 'Send' until I've reread my email several times over.
It took me a couple decades but I believe I've finally got the hang of stopping and thinking before opening my mouth...or clicking 'Send' as the case may be...

One of my brothers sent an email calling a publisher, who was going to publish his book, "flaky" to her friend. If Yahoo has an undo time limit it was long gone when he asked me how to get it back.
No one proof reads anymore. I always read what I typed a second and third time, to be sure that's what I want to say. That's why text editors exist. The body of an email is nothing more than a text editor, the only difference is, it has a send button.

I myself do not think it should be used at all. The same with the post dating program that allows you to send emails with a prior date that will interrupt the cataloging order.
These programs may seem to be usefull at first sight but will lead to the detriment of email services by stamping false dates and un-doing send . Thus destroying any credibility of the email service.
If people need the editing issues then write your emails in word or some compatible format and do all your proper punctuations and spelling errors and then copy/paste or whatever to the email program. If you did that then there would be no need for the undo....
They need to work on making an undo for the mistakes we all make in life instead of on some program.

whatever....it allows you to insert a date prior to the date that the email was originally suppose to be dated to and this actually is inserted so as to fool the accepting party's time stamp on receiving the email. It is still bogus and nothing more than a way to cheat.
