Hi all, This week's poll is about news that new technology may soon double smartphone battery life. Discuss here if you're happy with the life of your phone battery, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.
Thanks!
Justin

For normal usage (talk/text/web) on my original Droid, I'm still pleased, even though the battery is a year old. When going for media (Pandora, Slacker Radio, Tune-In), it drains pretty quickly (about 4 hours), but there's always a USB port available where I am, so it's not a big problem. I'm sure I'll need a new battery eventually, but still pretty much pleased with the one I (still) have... "Channeling the spirit of jboy..."
Hi All, perhaps we should extend the this discussion to include changing a failed battery, as this appears a major task.
Same applies to similar devices, such as ipods/ pads and tablets. etc.
I suspect many devices are deemed throwaway once this stage has been reached due to the high labour cost involved, unless one carries out the task oneself..
Good Luck - Keep us posted.
Well, I just used "our" (we've had it about 2 years now and that's the first time I've ever used it.....lol) iPhone on my hunting trip and I wasn't overly impressed. My work cell phone (not a smart phone) can go about 4 days on the battery before needing to be recharged. Even with all background stuff turned off, that stupid iPhone needed charging daily and I only used the darn thing once or twice a day at best.
So yeah, I'm not impressed.

I have an android( a little older model, being almost a year old.), haven't had much problem with it keeping battery life for 24 plus hours. On my phone its 1 slide compartment and the battery pops right out. I would agree with the iPhone issues my wife's battery lasts around 4 hours with the new software, and replacing the screen though cheap, was a pain. It only took a half hour, but two days of picking glass shards out of my hands...

I can go a week without charging my flip phone.
4 to 5 days on my Ascend II with data/wireless turned off. 4 to 5 hours with that sh!t turned on.

I really do not like the fact that smart phones drain thier batteries quickly and they keep silly little features on in the background like your wi fi and your blutooth when you don't need them and I also heard from somewhere that they deliberatly make the batteries rubbish i have no idea why they would dp something like that but im pretty sure that you can just buy a better battery off the internet I was an adventurer like you once until I took an arrow to the knee!
Sure you're right about rubbish batteries swordj...that's why I bought 2 additional off ebay. Came with a desktop charger all for about 8 bucks. Gives me the option to put one or two extras in my pocket if I feel I might need 'em.

ah crap, SMARTPHONE battery life...
this is the thread the poll linked to? I put yes, but I have a dumbphone, so I don't know now if I should have answered. My dumbphone gets a whole 5 days between charges when i forget sometimes.please remember to reply with results so we know whether a solution worked or not
The poll asked about "mobil phone's", not smartphone or Ford Focus or digital clock. How did you come to the conclusion this was a smart vs dumb poll?
Wait...think I know the answer.
please remember to reply with results so we know whether a solution worked or not
