Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Microsoft is retiring its Windows Live Messenger service in favor of Skype. Discuss here if this move will impact you, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

Wonder if they will release a Windows Update or maybe just a guide for removal of messenger. It tends to attach itself to things like IE and outlook express.
I used to use messenger but no-one on my contact list has been "online" for a couple of years. I guess they might be using skype which until now I have avoided. The migration from Messenger to Skype went smoothely but there were an inordinate number of hang-ons that I had to opt out of while installing it. One must pay close attention to pre-ticked boxes when running installs.

I'm trying to think if I've ever looked at it....and I don't believe I have. Likely because if it's made by MS, it's like to be "feature" rich like all their other software........LOL......so it won't affect me any.

I am the captain of my soul.
