I keep instant messaging turned off on my computers.
Murphys Law...Be busy doing something and sure enough some one who really has nothing to say will start messaging.
I do have it on my cell phone and enjoy it as it allows me to screen incoming calls.

I as well, do not use any messaging services and reccomend that my customers refrain from doing any instant messaging.

I simply don't use any instant messaging at all, people already have far too many ways in which to contact me.

I use instant messaging all the time, and although I like MSN (Windows Live) better (and the new version makes me like it even more), I use Yahoo because all my friends use Yahoo now.
