Hi all,

This week's poll question is about what you are dressing up as for halloween. Discuss here whether or not you think adults should even dress up, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

I don't dress up myself, but my wife does. She's a total Halloween nut.....lol.......my house, and yard, have been decorated for a couple of weeks already!

The closest I come to "dressing up" for Halloween anymore is putting on my hunting clothes the 1st of Nov.

My wife has put together a killer witch costume for this year and is even going to wear it for me today since I'm leaving for my annual hunting trip tomorrow morning bright and early.

While I may have little interest in dressing myself up, I see no reason why any adult who feels like it shouldn't dress up. It's fun, and can be very funny too depending on the costumes...........I've seen some hilarious ones.

I'm not a big fan of costumes that you rent or buy for adults or kids--that's the easy route. I like seeing kids in homemade costumes. If I could make a good costume, I'd probably wear it just to get 'in the spirit' of things.

I decorate the yard, put speakers in the upstairs window playing spooky sounds, and dress up a bit to hand out the candy.

We just carved our pumpkins tonight because we waited for our daughter to come home from college so she could carve with us. It's always been a family affair and hopefully always will be. We were carving (and laughing) until after midnight.

I drill holes in the back of the pumpkins and shove these through.

2 ways to get a laugh:

1 - Stuff some old clothes with leaves to make a "scarecrow", but only stuff one leg and one arm. Put the unstuffed side under the lawnmower with the stuffed limbs sticking out.

2 - Make a full scarecrow and sit him in a lawn chair with a fake head nestled under one arm. Put a chainsaw in his lap, and a copy of "Chain Saws for Dummies" in his other hand. (PowerPoint is our friend!)

Nice DerbyDad!

My wife and I like carving pumpkins too. Mind you, I'm not artistic at all so I leave the coming up with cool ideas for jack'o'lanterns to her. But I am a wizard with a knife so I can help. Here's some of this years crop (still a half dozen pumpkins left to carve at least....maybe even 10)

Here's the ones on our front steps along with some other odds and ends of halloween decorations.

Oh and this last one is her "Skellie dude" who's costume changes with each holiday......an x'mas present I bought her a couple years back......lol

Curt - I love the "scraped" pumpkins.

How do they look in the dark? Do you scrape the insides thin enough so the light shines through or do they require external lighting to show off the faces?

BTW..last night I wore a white "clean room" suit, a rubber skull cap and respirator/goggle combination - your basic bio-hazard gear.

When kids came to the door I told them I was allergic to trick-or-treaters.

As far as some of our pumpkins, here's my contribution and here's my daughter's.
