Greetings:
Does one of your many companies offer to help people collect 'unclaimed property' purportedly to help them, just to turn around and take it away from them as a debt collector?

Interesting concept! Would you care to be a bit more explicit?

Sounds like a scam to take money that belongs to you, if you sign it off to them.
You can get your own money back for FREE.
Most official State websites have the words "Unclaimed Property" that you can click.
--------------------------------------
The State of California is currently in possession of more than $5.1 billion in Unclaimed Property belonging to approximately 8.2 million individuals and organizations.The most common types of Unclaimed Property are:
* Bank accounts and safe deposit box contents
* Stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and dividends
* Uncashed cashier's checks or money orders
* Certificates of deposit
* Matured or terminated insurance policies
* Estates
* Mineral interests and royalty payments, trust funds, and escrow accountsCalifornia Unclaimed Property Law does NOT include real estate property.
-----------------------------------
Most all States allow you to Search their records of Unclaimed Property ONLINE.

It can be a long process trust me. My grandfather on my fathers side opened a savings account for me when I was born with $1,000.00. He put another $1,000.00 in every year until I turned five. My parents got divorced when I was two and mom remarried when I was 5. My step father adopted me. Inever again had any contact with my fathers family until my father looked me up 25 years later and told me the account was still there. It was in California. It took three years and no it is not free due to the fact that you may have to higher a lawyer as I did. After costs I ended up with $8,900.00.
Practice makes perfect but only if you practice perfectly!

re: "After costs I ended up with $8,900.00."
That number doesn't tell us much unless we know what the account was worth before the lawyers got involved.

Thanks for your post. It’s really useful .

NY has an unclaimed property site. Anyone can go there to see if they have unclaimed money. Other states may have the same thing. Even if they don't have a site, a lawyer isn't needed to find your money.
How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

Thanks for sharing your idea here. I appreciate your idea, very excellent.
