Hi on Solaris 5.8, I put a wallpager command in my .xsession file:

display -colormap Private -window root pic.jpg

The wallpaper looks nice. However, when I run Netscape I get a message "could not locate colormap #c0c0c0", so pictures in netscape are ugly looking.

Now the depth of root window is 8-bit can I set the depth from command line to 24-bit in my .xsession? Or else can be done to solve this?

thanks

I can't run "m64config -depth 24" -- it says permission denied. Note, I don't have root access. So what's the best way to solve this problem?
