First check to see if you have the 64 bit running.

$ isainfo -kv
64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules

If it is installed, but set to boot the 32 bit by default, you can change the eeprom settings to boot 64 bit. It should look like this from the command line

eeprom | grep "boot-file"
boot-file=kernel/sparcv9/unix

worse case, an upgrade from 32 to 64 bit can be done with the OS disk without needing an initial install option

Hi David, thanks for the info. When I do a isainfo -kv I get the following :

oracle@r1d1:oracle> isainfo -kv
32-bit sparc kernel modules

When I upgrade with the OS disk will I lose the current configuration, ie file systems etc. as this is a production box.

Thanks,

billd.
