Comment:

I have Ultra 10 running Solaris 7/01. Recently I wanted to reinstall system using Solaris 8 10/01. Unfortunately, I could not boot the system from cdrom or mount the cdrom. I tried the same CDs on Enterprase 250 platfrom and there I did not have any problems. Any ideas?

Is it just those particular CDs or any installation CDs? If it's any installation CDs, then sounds like your device aliases have screwed up, run devalias at the ok prompt and look for cdrom entries. If there is more than one, then try the one that you didn't try the first time. E.g:

ok boot cdrom2 - install
