Hi,
Everything was OK for a couple of months, then when I changed Ethernet switch
(10/100MB same bandwith diferent make)I can't
ping nothing in the LAN.
At boot a have the folowing error message:
"/usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx:unable to get my IP address:gethostbyname(my_host)failed [h_errno:???(-1)]"
LED indicators on switch and NIC are working fine,I have changed the RJ45 connectors, even connected the cable to the previous Ethernet switch!!!Still I have the same problem.
If someone has any idea...please it is urgent!!!

Rg

Mario,

You said everything was OK until you changed the ethernet switch. What happens when you go back to the old switch. Is it possible that the new switch is not working or not configured. Try a known good thing to determine if the problem is the switch or the Solaris 9 box. Good Luck.
