I have successfully installed Solaris 8 on my Compaq notebook. Unfortunately, the Solaris binaries do not have a driver for my video card (Trident Cyberblade i7) so I am stuck with a generic 16-color display.
Is there a Solaris driver out there for the Trident Cyberblade i7? Or will another driver work for that card? I would like to get at least 256 colors and 640x480 resolution.
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem here. My MB is a Houston with VIAgra Vga card (Trident chipset Cyberblade).. I'm also running Linux 7.1 RedHat (it could easily detect the VGa card and the right drivers) but Solaris only allows me to run at 640 X 480 at 16 colors !
Any help out there ?
Thanks.

I found a driver at
ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/updates/accelx/laptop/6.0/INDEX
but i not able to install it.
the filename is L6000.019.tar
good luck and may send my a feedback

I´ve got a Notebook compaq presario 1200 xl 101 and the driver for Trident Cyberblade make an interference with the hibernation function

The problem is the driver of the video Trident Cyberblade using Win Me in the notebook compaq presario 1200 xl 101. The hibernation mode was dissappeard

I found the workaround for RH 7.1 dealing with the Trident cyberblade card and it works great, unfortunately I am having a problem with making it work under Solaris 8, I am beginning to wonder if it is actually supported.
Also my network card is not recognized.

Could any one tell me where I can download a device driver for Trident CyberBlade i7 video card. I am using windows 2000.
Thank you.
I am looking forward for your answers.
