tcsh problem

On a server machine, ı log in and open a terminal window. when i write "tcsh" to enter tcsh, it takes about 40 secs to enter to tcsh. What is the reason of such a delay? When i remote log in to the same server machine and do the same again, there is no delay. It enters the tcsh right after i write the command.
