Hello,

first thing, create a /etc/hostname. containing a single hostname. That hostname must be resolvable, i.e. it must appear in the /etc/hosts file together with an IP address.

If it is a non-standard IP network (i.e. C-class subnet on B-class network), you must create/edit /etc/networks and add entry with the subnet address and corresponding netmask.

The other things are DNS and refaultrouter setup, this appeared in these archives several time.

Cheers, freddy

do one easy thing reinstall solaris in Intell M/c with compatible LAN card. At installation time that will ask some question from u and that will configure automatically.
