Comment:

I'm running Solaris 7 with the SunPCI 400MHz card v1.2.2 of SunPCI on an Ultra 10. Under Solaris 7 with the admintool I've configured the parallel port /dev/ecpp0. Windows NT 4.0 SP6A is installed under SunPCI.

I believe I read in a white paper that the SunPCI card hardware parallel port can be controlled directly from NT. I can print in Solaris with a terminal window command 'lp -d lexmark myfile'. However I've set up a parallel port printer in Windows NT and NT does not recognize the printer is connected.

If I set up network printing I can print from NT however we need to set up a parallel printer connection as we don't want to have any NT network access installed.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Rich Rayos
