Hi..

I have a problem with a user logging into the NIS+ cluster.

It says

WARNING Could not chdir to home directory /home/username : No such
file or directory and puts on / instead of his directory.

Here are some details..

The directory still exists there and I can go in there through cd..
Also I have checked that the paths to shell from / are having
permssions set to 755 and the homedirectory is owned by the user with
drwx------. I am not suspecting the automounter here as all the other
users are able to login and mount home directories clearly.

I have this warning as well but only when I connect remotely through
an ultra
but not when I do use ssh on a pc

error in locking authority file /home/user/.Xauthority

.Xauthority file doesnt exist for the user.

A nisgrep or nismatch on the user shows that he has a valid shell like
other users.

Please help!!!

Thanks...
