CPU/Ram: UltraSPARC III / 1GB
Comment:

Boot from Solaris 8 inst. CDROM failed with the following messages: Boot device: /pci@8, 700000/SCSI@6/disk@6,0:f file and ards: (empty)
krtl: load_exec: fail to expand cpu/$CPU.
krtl:error during initial load/link phase.
panic_boot: exitto64 returned from client program.
Program terminated.

Is this a cdrom or dvd? if it is a dvd did you try boot dvd

Aye,

you may want to do a stop+a, reset, stop +a, probe-scsi all (or probe on ide) to see what the device actually is.
