Hi all, does anyone know how to logon via Xmanager as root (i know its bad pratice but its a sparc for me to learn solaris 8 on). When i try a message says "not on system console, root logon rejected". Thanks for any help, Gaz.

hi,
an idea :-)

go to /etc/default/login on your solaris mashine and comment this line out.
#CONSOLE=/dev/console

perhaps it helps !
