Comment:

I'm totally new to Solaris, but need to know about it for a project.

I see a lot about Solaris 2.8. But I will need to work on Solaris 9.

Is 2.8 a much older version than 9? Or, is there an abrupt jump in versioning? Or, is 2.8=8?

Please help! Thanks!

Sun stopped naming Solaris as 2.x in version 2.6 then it became 7, 8, 9, and now 10.
