I need to install Solaris 10 onto a CompactFlash and I don't even no where to start. I have a box running Solaris 9 x86 and a box running Windows XP Pro. I have a 1GB CF and a USB CF reader/writer. I also have a copy of Solaris 10 on six CD's. Any suggestions? Thnx

Do you expect the CF to be bootable? Does you bios have this as a boot option? Boot from the install disk and see if the CF media shows up as an available target.

The bios does not support booting from a USB device. Is the only way it can be done is with an IDE CF adapter?

If you have a device your PC is able to boot from, you can install Solaris on the CF media if that is an available install target then install a boot loader ( grub , lilo , etc ) on your boot device.
