I received SPARCStation 20 from a friend who pulled it out of office environment. I would like to perform a clean installation of Solaris 8 on it. Could anyone help me out with step-by-step instruction for a dummy? I have some experience with Solaris from an university and even with UltraSPARC assembly but Sun's website has tens of pages dealing with the installation itself and I don't want to read through all of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

as i was a sol newbie until 2 months a go ill try and do it easy:) 1.download sol9 in my uniformed opinion its easier than sol8. 2.install from cd1 of 2 NOT the install cd. 3.your external cd drive must be scsi id6 and support 512bytes. 4.start your ss20. 5.press the stop key and the a key to get the ok prompt. 6.type boot cdrom 7.follow the prompts to install. 8.any problems feel free to email me as ill be glad to help u out:)
