Reply: (edit)My guess is you need a third party boot manager that supports both. Another possibility would be to install VMWare or some other virtual machine software, under Vista and install Solaris 11 into a virtual machine.

Reply: (edit)Sure, read almost any how to on "grub linux vista" searches. Change out linux in the how-to's with solaris for the most part. There are plenty of how to' on "vista grub dual boot solaris" too. Solaris has to use grub. (well, for most people) See also third party loaders. http://neosmart.net/blog/2006/easyb... If you just want to try solaris then I agree with the virtual machines. Either VMplayer or MS's VPC or virtualbox should work fine.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Reply: (edit)thank a lot. but there are some people arguing that if using virtual machine, system may not work quickly as not using it. however, if i do not use it, Grub and Vista's MBR will destroy each other. Anyway, virtual machine is a good idea. thanks again.

Reply: (edit)First you install windows For example your hard disk capacity is 80 GB, install windows in 60 GB and leave 20 GB as unpartioned. After completion of windows. Insert solaris CD and boot Now the solaris will install in 20 GB. after completin of solaris installation, when it is restarting took the CD. otherwise again solaris will install. The same problem everybody is facing without taking the Solaris CD while it reboots after installation.
