hello there
i installed solaris 9 on an intel-pc with two network interfaces. behind each interface is a small lan. i can reach every computer in every lan using one or the other interface when i am logged in the solaris pc. but if a computer from one lan has to connect to a computer on the other lan, the solaris pc does not route. and i do not find the problem.
lan1 - pc - lan2
lan1: 10.130.24.0 - 255.255.248.0 lan2: 10.130.18.0 - 255.255.248.0 interface1: 10.130.18.254 interface2: 10.130.24.254 file /etc/notrouter does not exist.
when the pc starts, you can read the line "pc is a ipv4 router" on the screen.

You wouldn't be using Realtek NIC's (8139D) would you. About a month ago, I installed Solaris 9.0 on and AMD750 Slot A. Everything works great with network connectivity as long as I don't cross my router (Linksys). I posted my similiar problem on "unix forum". I've even had a friend come in a look at it. Thought maybe I missed a config file. By the way have you tried using "route add (anything after)" I receive a protocol not supported. Even if I just type route it responds with this error. I've yet to figure this one out. I've reinstalled my OS thinking this would fix the problem but no luck there.
