Well.. i was installing sol8 on vmware under WindowsXP (athlon 1333 512mb ram). I set it as Other and vhd of 40gb on vmware.. so.. it was installing ok. But, when i set default monitor and video card, it started X enviroment and from there i couldnt do anything, except reboot (and then start all over again). N1 had this problem? is there a way to REALLY bypass video settings? (i tried, but it still opens X). Thanks in advance.

Yes,

Boot to single user mode to bypass X startup, and remove or rename /etc/rc2.d/S99dtlogin.

From the boot prompt 'b -s' is the command.

The vmware x86 drivers aren't around yet, so relax, hopefully some nice soul will port the Linux XFree86 Vmware drivers to Intel Solaris ones.
