Is it possible to install Solaris 8 for Intel on an AMD Athlon XP 1700 computer? I have a 60GB hard drive and 256 RAM with XP pre-installed.

Should work cause the Athlon XP is in the Sun’s compatibility list for Solaris x86.
You have to try. You know, there are sometimes some compatibility problems (more or less critical) with newer hardware. Not particularly for Solaris, just in general, e.g. for some video cards installed on some motherboards, or some Maxtor hard disks on some Abit motherboards, and so on.
