Solaris 8 login problem

I just installed Solaris 8, everything looks good, after installation i can log into CDE and everything looks great. However the next time I power on the system I can not get passed the login screen. I type in my user name and password, the system accepts them an hour glass appears, the screen goes white then black, and it kicks me back into the login screen. I can login into the system just fine if I use the console login. Please help!!!! I don't know what's wrong.

Boot in single user mode using the following command boot -s and now try to login and check your /var/adm/messages file. Something must be there.

depending who you login as:
root boot -s and cd / then do an rm -r .dt if your a user and that is the person who can't login boot -s and go to his/her home directory and remove rm -r .dt
