I hope someone can help us.

Guys,
Installing Solaris X86 can be tricky unless you have 100% solaris x86 compatible harware but it's not impossible, now the funny characters and stuff means that it's not reading the cdrom properly, If you can get to boot from cdrom then you should be able to install SOlaris unless you are getting any lun or bus erorrs. If you can privide me exact errors I might be able to help you. thanks

I've same situation while installation of Solaris 8/X86 even on each P-III (Dell)notebook booting from floppy or CD.
When you asked to enter a number for language selection you get after input of any number a few lines of charcters on the screen followed by an endless beep.
How to bring Solaris 8/X86 on a notebook???
