Hello,

I am an Oracle DBA who has recently been tasked with cross-training as a UNIX Admin. My boss has asked me to come up with a basic health check document for our Sun Netra 1400 servers running Solaris 8. The catch is that he wants it by June 17, 2004 prior to my departure for a much needed vacation.

I have been a UNIX user for about 5 years but only started my UNIX Sys Admin training about 2 months ago. I have many other duties in my job as I am the Oracle DBA for 12 database servers.

I am sweating this assignment a little and would be very gracious to anyone who might have some type of canned health check that can be used for servers running Solaris 8. This could come either in the form of a hard-copy with steps and commands that you could run against your system to ensure everything looks rosey or as a automated script.

I would like to thank everyone in advance for their help with my short term dilemma.
