I have installed Solaris 8 on P3, now I am trying to install on P4 with same cd(s). When I boot system, its checks my devices (no conflict), then ask for target to boot, I choose CD then it reboots. It wont give me option to make partion nor it install. Can any one help me out ????

There must be something wrong with the CD, or ur hdd, becos am sure its not able to copy from the CD to ur hdd, thats why its crying so much

hi There is a problem installing solaris 8 on p4 intel platform. There are 2 ways to surrund this. The first is to use a patch describe below, and second to use a procedure also describe below. Sha, I was able to install my solaris, but I am confused with the later part. I still can't get the patch to stay permanently. As a result I have to issue the "k badb - d" command every time my pc boots up. Am i missing something here? please respond. Do i have to hard code it inside a file or what. Thanks Sombo
