hi over there,

i try to setup sol8 in my vmware on w2k using iso files.
the steps order during the installation is very different from what is described in the pdf doc.
when i reboot after the installation complete, i have a graphical interface, but without any windows in it ... and i'm stuck there.
i can right click and in "programs" i have "console" and "terminal".
the doc says a welcome message should appear :-(

i passed successfully the installation stages, configured my partition correctly etc.

the only thing different is that i have 3 virtual cd drives for :
1. install cd
2. soft cd 1
3. soft cd 2
and after the partition configuration, fdisk did not activate the x86boot partition. i had to boot on an image of a dos disk drive to run the dos fdisk and activate the right partition.

does anybody ever had this problem ?
any help will be appreciated !
thx in advance,

bertrand (brussels)
