Hello!

We have problem with connection speed between UNIX machine and pc with W2K Pro with IIS5.0
I made now direct cable connection between these 2 comuters without hub and other network, but still we have strange slow file transfer speed.
Running ftp client in w2k:
sending file from w2k to unix - speed 2MB/s
getting file from unix - 6kb/s
Running ftp client in UNIX:
sending file from unix to w2k - speed 6kb/s
getting file from w2k - 53kb/s
Any advise is welcome and so are questions if you need to know some more information.

Thanks.
Mart

I've heard of problems before with auto-negotiation. I can't remember the exact procedure (maybe someone else can help) - but you may want to force your NIC on the Solaris machine into a particular mode (100BaseT Full Duplex for example).
