Setting max user procs

CPU/Ram: 4gb
Product: sun x4200

I need to set the maximum number of concurrent processes that a single user can run. In linux its easy, and is a pam configuration, but I can't figure out how to do this under solaris. Someone told me it was a kernel parameter, but I have not found any more information than that.
