Hi all, I have setup a solaris 2.6 server with fixed IP address. Now i can browse the Internet using my Netscape. Ping,Telnet,Ftp all work fine. But i can not find my server under my network. When using Find computer in winNT. I am running an apache webserver in this solaris. I cant view throw browser in my PC.

You cannot view a unix server under Windows NT natively. You will either need samba on the unix server or some kind of unix client or nfs server on the NT server. You should however be able to access the apache server as long as you are running common protocols like HTTP (port 80). You probably need to reference the URl through IP address (http://x.x.x.x/default.html) unless you have DNS resolution set up. Hope that helps.

If you Need to map a Drive to your Solaris machine from your NT Machine, you Need to run a Software that supports that. I Use a Software called HUMMINGBIRD. This Software will allow you to Map drives to a Unix Box. It uses the FTP Protocol to map drives. The Software runs on the NT Box.
