I am a new user in scripting. I want to check that in my folder if some file is 4 hours older than the current time, it should mail the administrator, Please suggest how this can be done.??

cron the script. use find -t send to file results. cron to look for file, mail file and delete file.

Watch out for shell issues with cron as to user.

Cron is a good choice. You'll probably want to use the find command's -newer option. Take a look at this article:

The second tip describes how to use the -newer option.
