screen capture/recording software

I would like to screen-capture/record screens for creating software training. Currently we do use snapshot on solaris for screencapturing. Since I need a lot of screencaptures this is insufficient. I need a more suitable/intelligent package something like snaggit/camtasia studio/robo demo. Does anyone know a solution maybe a Java application?
