hi,
i have by mistake run rm command without -fr when i was on the root directory of the server meaning / .
it didnt delete the directories but all the files.
the server is still up and running but i cant login to it via ssh.
can someone tell me which files i need to get back?
thanks in advanced.

Caution – Caution –
Be careful when you use the rm command, and be particularly careful when you use rm with the wildcard character (*). You cannot recover files that you have removed with rm.
That is from the Sun site.
I doubt you would be able to rebuild that machine without a clone to copy from. Even then it might be doubtful.
Pretty sure you are looking at an easier solution. Rebuild it.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Well yeah. The solution would be : take your backup, and restore the missing files, or re-install the OS ...
