I was trying backup and restore across multiple volumes(floppy disks) using the cpio operation. For backup i used the following command cpio -ocavBO <pathname> It asked for the next disks until the backup is complete. But when i tried to restore, i used the command cpio -itBI <pathname> at the end of reading the first disk the output was "cpio: end of file encountered prior to end of archive" and the operation exited.
why is it happening this way? Any help will be highly appreciated.
