What is the relationship btwn. /export/home and /home? I think some of my CDE startup blues have something to do with this.
If it is a linking relationship, how does one recover if this link is corrupted?

The Automount-deamon prevents create-ing
Home-dirs in the /home dir-tree you need to
create that in /export/home (original
exported file system)
But that same proces (automountd mounts the /export/home-dirs to /home. So you work on
a virtual file-system...

If you login your home-dir is mounted and
you can work on that. CDE is a other process. if You Home-dir is not mounted You cannot login into solaris-CDE enviroment..
(you get kicked out!). You can try the command-line-login.. then you can log in even with-out a Home-dir!.

Hope it helps a little bit...
