By mistake I've deleted the /etc/passwd and shadow files, I don't have a backup and I rebooted the system. What do I have to do to recover those files? Is there any way to do it??

Hi Carlos,

You can try, to boot from cdrom (boot cdrom -s) then mount the boot disk (both parts if mirroring is used) probably c0t0d0s0...
Then cp from /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow to
{mountpoint}/etc/...
and vi {mountpoint}/etc/shadow for the root passwd...

Hope it helps

B.Dude
